What was the aim of the initiative and what change did you want to bring about?
“The first truck of the new Euro 6 line of DAF was presented during the IAA (Internationale Automobil Ausstellung) in Hannover, Germany. This product introduction is an important moment for the brand to inform its customers, fans, drivers, prospects and internal organization. DAF Trucks asked us to develop a strongly visual website that will stand outside the current DAF environment. We developed a unique concept for the introduction of the new flagship. We address the two different target groups of DAF Trucks from one platform: the DAF XF 6 campaign page . The entrepreneur is often also the driver of the truck. In this way, both target groups see each other's most important spearheads when purchasing a new truck.”

DAF XFs immediately critically questioned by host Boris Veldhuijzen van Zanten about why he is not present on social media, because "if it is suitable for the Pope and Obama..." Hopefully The Next Web has given our future king the inspiration to become a real Willem 4.0. Willem Alexander thanks the organization of The Next Web in any case, because the Netherlands wants to be a knowledge economy and events like this make an important contribution to that.

The first keynote is by Andrew Blum , who talks about the integration of the virtual internet into our physical world. Underwater maps of internet cables show that even in the virtual world, turkey phone data old physical hubs such as New York and Singapore are still crucial in the virtual world. He finds it striking that the company that knows most about us (Google) itself keeps it secret and, for example, makes its data centers invisible on Google Maps.

Siebrand Dijkstra of AppMachine explains how developing apps is comparable to LEGO: you can make anything out of it. His tool helps you to quickly and easily create a beautiful app from functionalities that are already online, for example on your company website, YouTube or social media. An app for an event like The Next Web can be made super fast and cheap, with colors, backgrounds and photos that you can set yourself. Becoming a nerd has never been so easy.
