Social Business How Does It Work?

Post by [email protected] »

Companies are increasing their investments in social technologies, but
their widespread use requires changes in management culture.
This is the conclusion reached by experts from the IBM Institute for Business Value (IBV) after surveying more than 1,160 company managers
in different countries.

Companies that are leading in the implementation of social technologies do not
only and not so much increase their presence on social platforms.
Social businesses integrate social technologies into their core
business processes and also apply social practices to support customer-oriented
initiatives, such as lead generation,
pre-sales, sales and post-sales service.

Social tools and practices are used in both
external and internal communications of nurses email database the company. Business becomes social
to improve the quality of customer service, increase
employee productivity and the efficiency of the company's business processes, stimulate innovation, and
ensure the adoption of correct management decisions.

According to IBM, a company’s ability to develop its employees’ social skills
is critical to accelerating the adoption of social technologies . This requires behavioral changes that can lead to changes in corporate culture. However, only 1 in 4 executives surveyed believes that their company is fully prepared for such changes .

According to the study, 46% of companies increased their
investments in social technologies in 2012, and 62% plan to do so in
the next three years, but only 22% of executives are confident that their
managers are ready to make social tools an integral part of their daily
work.

Many companies are still trying to decide whether they can get
real value from investing in social technologies. Two out of three respondents are not
confident that they sufficiently understand and can assess the impact
of social technologies on their company over the next three
years. In addition, many executives are concerned about the risks that arise from
increasing openness and transparency of the company.

Management must lay the foundation for transforming
the company into a social business, IBM experts believe. At the most basic level, it is necessary to create
a working environment for communication and business cooperation. The social
tools being implemented must be integrated into the daily activities of managers and
ordinary employees.

Managers must help employees understand where and how
social data can bring real benefits to the company. And
finally, management must teach employees how to effectively
engage with people outside the company using social
business tools.
