At Asiri Marketing we are promoting a small initiative to encourage good practices in businesses in the tourism sector . As Alejandro Jodorowsky says: “ To change the world, it is necessary to start by changing oneself”, so from a shift towards awareness to build on the positive, we have launched a Responsible Tourism Manifesto for committed businesses .
We believe that the responsibility to care for the planet is an added value and a fantastic marketing tool for any type of business . It is time for us to focus on businesses that are aware of Sustainable and Responsible Tourism. For our part, we have carried out an analysis exercise to propose the 10 principles on which to base the List of Ireland Consumer Email manifesto. They are basic but essential principles on which each accommodation, travel agency, restaurant, multi-adventure company... can work and set them in their short, medium and long-term objectives. At stake is not only the health of our beloved tourism sector but also the balance of different factors that make our planet more habitable and supportive.
To build the Responsible Tourism Manifesto, we have identified 10 principles or pillars on which to base the manifesto. They are a declaration of intentions about our way of seeing tourism and we would love to agree with you on them. The principles are:
Local Development.
Working in Community.
Promote Conservation.
Promote Diversity.
Awareness in Sustainability.
Respect the Heritage and Infrastructure.
Bet on Technology.
Taking care of Human Resources.
Focus on Active Listening.
Responsible Prices.
There are certainly many more topics to work on, but for our part these 10 seemed essential to make tourism a driver of development and not just a source of wealth for a few. At Asiri Marketing we are convinced that responsible tourism is a good tool to contribute to fairer societies that are aware of the problems that concern us all. We want the protagonists within the tourism sector to be businesses with values based on equality, transparency and professionalism.
