Until now, Yahoo! Ads only allowed audience lists to be shared between accounts for display ads, but as of May 31, 2023, audience lists can now also be shared between accounts for search ads . In this article, we will introduce the process from adding the function to actually setting it up, including the implementation process.
*This function is being provided in stages to customers who are managed by Yahoo! Marketing Solutions Partners (advertising companies and agencies), so you must check in advance whether the function is available.

What is the "Target List Sharing Feature between Accounts"?
What prompted this study?
Originally, there were two types of accounts: an advertising account that delivers ads to acquire new members, and an account that implements retention measures to prevent existing members from leaving. When delivering retention measures, we wanted to deliver ads to the conversion users accumulated through acquisition measures, so we considered sharing target lists.

Sharing target lists between accounts
The official help explains how to share target lists between accounts as follows:

Sharing target lists between accounts is a function that allows you to share lists of users to whom ads are delivered (target lists) across multiple accounts when you operate sites for the same advertiser across multiple accounts and use site retargeting across accounts.

In other words, target lists can be shared and used across accounts, but only on sites of the same advertiser .
With this function, you can create a "target list group" in each account that you want to share the target list with, and then share only lists that have been accumulated by issuing and embedding a common tag for the target list group. List information accumulated in each account before creating the target list group cannot be shared. Please note.

How to set up "Target List Sharing Function between Accounts"
1. Check with the publisher to see if it can be used
First, check with Yahoo! Ads to see if your current account is eligible for this feature. If the conditions are met, you can use it.

2. Request to create a target list group
Request a Yahoo! Advertisement representative to grant the target list group function to the target account. It depends on the timing and situation of the request, but it took about 1 to 3 weeks from request to implementation . We recommend that you request it with plenty of time in your schedule.

If the same advertiser has a different company name registered in their account, it may take some time for approval.

Information required at the time of request
Representative account ID/Representative account name (main account for operations)
Advertiser Name (for reference when registering)
Desired target list group name
Name that identifies the advertiser. 80 characters or less. English letters and numbers cannot be used. Device-dependent characters cannot be used.
Example: ○Yahoo list ×Winter sale list
Please note that the name of the target list group cannot be changed after it has been approved.

3. Setting up the account you want to share
Once the target list group function is granted, you can set up the shared accounts you want to set for the target list group from the ad management screen. After completing the settings, it took about 2 to 4 business days for the contents to be reflected.
