Aware that ChatGPT 's popularity is skyrocketing and is still far from reaching its peak, Google has decided to make its artificial intelligence Bard public in the United States and the United Kingdom.

In these two countries, any user who wishes to do so can request access to Google's conversational AI , which, like ChatGPT, is capable of answering any question and creating and summarizing texts.

However, there is a waiting list to access Bard , so access to the chatbot will not be immediate and you will necessarily have to be patient.

Bard is anchored in Google's LaMDA language model , which has been specially adapted to the Mountain View company's new product.

Google's conversational AI treats users to an experience similar to that offered by the increasingly ubiquitous ChatGPT. We can ask Bard for advice, to write texts governed by a series of parameters or to explain quantum physics in a way that is accessible to everyone.

Bard responds with three simultaneous responses for each question asked by the user, using different tones. Some of his responses are more creative, while others are more direct and concise.

Google, however, calls Bard a mere "experiment" and stresses that it was not created with the ultimate goal of replacing traditional searches but rather with the aim of becoming an assistant to "spur creativity."

The company also stresses that its AI is not immune to errors and can in some cases "hallucinate" and invent data.

“These language models are exciting technology, but they are not without their flaws. For example, because they learn from a wide range of information that reflects real-world biases and stereotypes, they sometimes apply these to their results. They can also provide inaccurate, misleading, or false information even when presented confidently,” Google says on its corporate blog .

Bard is expected to arrive in more countries in the coming months.
For this reason, and in order to counteract these problems, Bard includes a button to perform traditional searches on Google if the chatbot brings up information of a dubious nature and data needs to be verified.

As with other chatbots, Bard can develop extreme personalities if it engages in extended conversation sessions . That's why Google has decided to limit the number of consecutive interactions with Bard, which after a certain amount of time forgets everything before and starts a completely new conversation.

Access to Bard is currently limited to the United States and the United Kingdom, although Google plans to expand this functionality to more countries in the coming months.

The furious entry of ChatGPT into the scene has added a lot of pressure to Google , as many experts predict that chatbots will be the natural way of searching for information on the Internet in the future. If these predictions come true, Google would see its absolute reign in the search field, where it currently holds 90% of the market, in jeopardy.

of a pariah in the search world, has grown substantially since it decided azerbaijan number screening to integrate ChatGPT into its domains last month. With the invaluable help of OpenAI's AI, Bing has managed to surpass the 100 million active user mark for the first time in its history .

Interestingly, and although Microsoft and OpenAI have taken the lead over Google in the field of conversational chatbots, all of these tools are indebted to a technology developed by the Mountain View company. Most of the language models lurking in the bowels of ChatGPT and company have their roots in the so-called “transformers” , a neural network architecture created by Google in 2017 to improve the ability of search engines to understand and express themselves in natural language.

Google's cautious approach to AI is weighed down by its reputation , which it fears could be damaged if it launches its conversational chatbots too hastily. OpenAI can be forgiven for ChatGPT's mistakes, but such mistakes become much more serious when they are made by a company as old as Google.
