I don't really like lists like that. Although I can appreciate some of the diligent attempts. But there is one kind of list that I do like, namely the lists that institutes and magazines in the field of new technology venture into: the future predictions in the field of technology.

Where the MIT technology review kept itself somewhat level-headed with the prediction that 2013 will be the year of the internet of things , the technology institute IBM dares to go a lot further. For example, they predict that computers will also be equipped with 'senses' in the coming years. From now on, for example, when buying a new dress you will be able to feel the fabric on your screen via your smartphone and odor sensors will be able to detect an excess of carbon monoxide in a hospital.


The website Popular Mechanisms goes much further with its 110 predictions for the next 110 years . Divided into three periods, it paints a world that makes me both wildly excited and a little scared.
