The series of falls in the films Home Alone (1990) and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992) has become one of the most recognizable and hilarious elements of these holiday classics. In both films, the main character Kevin McCallister, played by Macaulay Culkin, sets clever and malicious traps for two not-so-bright thieves, Harry and Marv, played by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern. The falls, stumbles and painful landings that they experience have become synonymous with the slapstick humor that captivates viewers year after year.

In the first Home Alone movie , the series of falls begins when list of peru consumer email Harry and Marv try to break into the McCallister house. Kevin, left alone for the holidays, defends the house like a fortress with creative and sometimes brutal traps. In one of the most famous scenes, Marv, going up the basement stairs, slips on the ice, falling hard on his back. Harry, in turn, falls to the ground with a thud after slipping on the icy stairs. Each of these falls, depicted with exaggerated realism, elicits bursts of laughter from the audience, despite the incredible injuries sustained by the characters.

In "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York" (1992), the series of falls is equally spectacular and no less painful. This time, Kevin, accidentally ending up in New York, once again faces Harry and Marv, who plan to rob a toy store. Kevin sets up traps in the abandoned house that are even more sophisticated and painful than in the first film. In one of the most memorable scenes, Marv falls into a hole in the floor and falls several floors down, landing in the basement on a hard concrete surface. Harry, in turn, is hit by a metal bar, which causes him to lose his balance and fall from a height, landing on his back again.

These fall sequences, although exaggerated, perfectly capture the slapstick style that pays homage to classic comedy cinema. The audience rejoices at each painful mishap of the thieves, and Kevin triumphs as a brilliant young trap maker. Although in reality such falls could be fatal, in the context of the film they are a source of endless entertainment that successfully elicits laughter, even years later.
