PSD2, Strong Customer Authentication and 3D Secure 2.0

As business owners, we receive so many different notifications and alerts every day that it can be a challenge to sort through them all and figure out where action is needed. You’ve likely received communications from your payment processor(s) informing you that the revised Payment Services Directive ( DSP2 ) comes into effect on September 14, 2019, and urging you to update your integration to be compliant.
In general, the main PSD2 requirement as it relates to online businesses is strong customer authentication ( SCA ) – similar to what people refer to as two-factor authentication – requiring a 3D Secure ( 3DS ) card for initial, one-time purchases where both the initiating and acquiring bank are located in the European Economic Area ( EEE ).
MemberMouse takes seriously the responsibility of implementing security and infrastructure updates for all payment gateways we support. Our development team is preparing a new version to make your website compliant before the mid-September deadline.
There is no action required for list of barbados consumer email MemberMouse customers at this time. The new version of MemberMouse will contain updated payment integrations and incorporate the necessary changes for the 3DS payment flow. A simple manual update of the MemberMouse plugin will be all that is necessary on your site. Please read below for additional information on the SCA efforts of specific payment processors.
Stripe y Braintree
Both Stripe and Braintree will rely on 3D Secure 2.0 to provide authentication. Implementing 3D Secure typically adds an additional step after payment, where the bank asks the cardholder to provide additional information to complete the payment (e.g. a one-time code sent to their phone or fingerprint authentication through their mobile banking app). MemberMouse's efforts are focused on working to modify our integration and payment flow as needed to support this functionality.
Stripe Documentation: You can review Stripe's documentation on SCA aquí .
Braintree Documentation: And Braintree documentation can be found aquí .
It is particularly interesting to note the exceptions to SCA that each gateway supports and does not support. These can be found in the documentation referenced in the link above.
