LinkedIn is a professional network , so you might expect its users to use it during work hours and on their commute to and from work.
In 2020, almost everyone’s work habits were substantially altered, so it makes sense that the best times to post on LinkedIn have changed as well. According to a study by Sprout Social, the best times to post on LinkedIn before March 2020 were:
Wednesdays between 8 and 10 in the morning and at noon.
Thursdays at 9am and between 1pm and 2pm.
Fridays at 9 in the morning.
Instead, according to the same source, the best times to post on LinkedIn during the coronavirus pandemic were:
Wednesdays at 3pm.
Thursdays between 9 and 10 in the morning.
Fridays between 11am and 12am.
In general, the worst times to post are evenings and weekends.
The best time to post on LinkedIn according to sectors
The data we've just seen can serve as a good general guide. But if you want to get even more specific, HubSpot has published some very interesting conclusions about the best time to post on LinkedIn by sector :
