MailChimp: Create your own newsletter

Post by sakib25 »

The time comes when you decide that your marketing strategy should take advantage of a new channel: email. As we discussed in another post , email marketing can also be an effective way to reach your target audience. The most widely used tool, probably because it is simple and practical, is MailChimp .

MailChimp is an online platform for mass email sending that has a free albania consumer mobile number list version and two paid versions. The free version allows you to manage up to 2,000 subscribers with a limit of 12,000 emails per month. The other two versions are either paid monthly based on the number of subscribers or with a credit system based on the number of emails sent.

Through this guide you will learn how to manage the database, use email templates and prepare campaigns with this platform. If you want to learn more about Email Marketing , don't miss our recent article Email Marketing: what it is and how to get the most out of it

Register
– Go to MailChimp and click on 'Sign up free'.

– Fill out the form with your details and a password of at least 8 characters.

– Confirm your address by clicking 'Activate Account' in the email you will automatically receive.

– Fill out the new form: name, surname, company and address, and decide if you want to connect it to social networks.

– Once this is done, you will receive a welcome email and you can start creating your campaigns.

Subscriber lists
How to get email addresses? When subscribers make a purchase or subscribe to the newsletter by filling out a form, you will get the email address. Either way, it is essential to have their permission. Please note that Mailchimp guarantees the privacy of all data entered.

How do I import data? By uploading a .csv or .txt file containing all the contacts, or by using Signum Forms, which updates the list as leads fill out the contact form.

How to classify subscribers? You can create the lists you want, differentiating whether they are customers, leads, if they come from a raffle, etc. They can also be segmented by different parameters that you can determine yourself.

Templates
They are very easy to use. Just drag the elements you want to add and drop them on the template. When designing the newsletter, keep in mind:

– Make a copy of the template so that when you make changes, you can't go back. How? On the 'Templates' page, select the tab next to 'Edit' and click 'Replicate'.

– Send yourself a test email to check that everything (images, links, text, etc.) looks good with the 'Preview and Test'.

– The email should include legal information, usually in the footer. This is already predetermined by the template, so there is no need to delete it.

– Merge Tags . These are tags that are used to personalize content. For example, typing *|FNAME|* will display the recipient’s name.

How to create a campaign from scratch
Create Campaign : Mailing can be Regular, with a more visual format; Plain-text, with only text; A/B Split, which sends two different newsletters with different subjects to 20% of the list and the one that gets the best results is sent to the rest; and RSS, which are automated mailings, like every time a blog post is published.
Recipients : Choose from your list of subscribers which one you want to send the email to. You can even segment the email within the same list.
Set up:
Name your campaign: Give each campaign a name. Only you can see it, not the recipients.
Email subject: The subject of the newsletter should be easy and quick to read. It can have up to 150 characters, but it is recommended that the message be summarized in about 30-40 characters. You can also add icons.
From name: Name of the sender. Name of a person or company, although the first option is usually more familiar and has the highest opening rate.
From email address: The address that will appear as the sender, with which the newsletter will be sent.
Personalize the “To” field: Use this to include the recipient’s name in the content or subject to make the message more personal.
Template : Choose the template you like best from among the basic structures and pre-designed themes.
Design : Text, images, links, call-to-action buttons, etc. Design your newsletter to your liking.
Confirm : In the last step you will find a summary of all the important aspects of the shipment. You should review everything before sending it. If you wish, you can also schedule it.
