Albert Calvet is a music enthusiast who one day decided to start his own business and discovered the potential of digital marketing as a profession. After completing our Master in Content Management and Social Media Strategy, he immersed himself in the world of marketing, specialising in web development, to the point where, in addition to working for the Vilax agency, he took on his own projects as a freelance web developer. Discover his story in the following interview.
You studied audio engineering. What would you have liked to do when you chose this field?
Over time this has changed, but music is still one of my biggest bosnia and herzegovina consumer mobile number list hobbies today and, whenever I can, I try to lock myself in the studio to make music.
In 2017 you co-founded Ethernal bcn. What did this project consist of?
Ethernal Bcn was my first contact with the world of digital marketing. It was a brand of polarized sunglasses that we sold through our online store. The idea at first was to do Dropshipping with sunglasses, but after having started working on the project we decided to take the plunge and create our own brand.
At the time, neither I nor the friend I founded Ethernal with had sufficient marketing training, so we were pretty much going in blind, learning as we went along on the brand. After a while, we had to shelve the project as we couldn't devote the time or money to it to make it profitable.
Shortly after, you decided to take our Master in Content Management and Social Media Strategy . What made you want to train in digital marketing?
When I finished my degree in audio engineering, I found myself in a somewhat discouraging reality. Working as a music producer is very complicated, as it is a very closed world that is extremely difficult to break into. You need good contacts, a lot of talent and many years of work before you can make the most of all the effort invested.
Seeing the situation, I decided that, while I was trying to make a place for myself in that world, I needed a plan B in case things didn't work out as I expected.
Marketing had been on my mind for a while back then and I thought it was the best time to train myself in that field. Maybe I could bring music and marketing together by promoting artists, forming a record label, or something like that, or maybe I would discover new options and opportunities outside of music.
How has what you have learned helped you in your professional career?
The master's degree certainly gave me very useful technical knowledge, such as the use of platforms such as Google Ads, Analytics or Facebook Ads, different analysis methods and application of marketing strategies, etc. However, what I value most about what I learned at International Marketing is the ability to think and act like a professional in the sector.
The professors I had on the master's degree are all successful professionals wi
