I'm not a Poptin employee, but I really like their parrot mascot pop-up.

Honestly, I love mascot pop-ups. They have personality and give a creative side to a blog or website. Not to mention they are great for brand awareness.

In the example vietnam phone numbers above, Poptin shows this when there is an exit intent and uses a fear approach to get me to sign up. The barrier to signing up is very low as it takes less than two minutes. The parrot mascot is always flying so it gets attention.

If you want to use your mascot in your pop-up design, make sure it gets the right attention.

Finally, this copy offers to start a free account and get more customers through those visitors. Lovely!

I'll sign up just because it's so elegantly made.

Another great creative inspiration that makes good use of context is Hipmunk.

This pop-up makes good use of the mascot and the wait and load times. Hipmonk works well with the mascot to grab attention, but the placement and trigger pull could have been even better.

It's simple and effective. I recommend this type of pop-up if your application has a long wait time.

Content Marketing Popup Design Inspiration
If you have great content that you can easily promote and attract your target audience – why wouldn’t you want to showcase it? You can easily promote eBooks, webinars , infographics, community offers, and more.

Appcues did a great job sharing their onboarding academy a few years ago. Their academy has educated many SaaS entrepreneurs and product managers. Here’s an example of a previous popup design:

The popup above is made by a great designer and with great copy. They have similar popups for blog updates too.
