You probably remember that Google local listings were included in a program called “Google My Business”: since the end of 2021, this free service of the platform has changed its name to “ Google Business Profile ”.
Among the new possibilities that the search engine has added with this change, the innovative method of managing the company profile certainly stands out.
If before there was a dedicated panel (which in our opinion was definitely better!), now it is possible to manage your business on Google Maps or directly from the Google SERP (results page).

How to create a business profile on Google
Well, now that we know the what and the why, it's time to see how to open a profile for your business on Google.
To get started you will need an email to associate with your business card, if you don't have one yet don't worry, you can do it right away in just a few moments.
1) Go to the “Business Profile” page
You can do this either by typing “business profile” directly into the search bar, or from the main page of the search engine, at the top right by clicking on the 6 dots of the Google apps. (If you want to do it faster, we leave you a little shortcut here )
Once you get to the page, it will mostly be a matter of following a fairly simple wizard , you will be asked for a bit of preliminary information in order to complete the card of your business on Google to show to your customers.
2) Basic company information
Clicking on the “Manage Now” button is the first thing to do to start the registration process. A new tab will open and step by step you will be asked to enter the name of your business, the type (online, physical store, home services), the website if you already have one and the category to which your business belongs.
3) Information about where you are
Here you will have to enter the address of your company, this is also the way to insert the business on Google maps and get the red dot that indicates your position.
To be sure not to make a mistake, Google, in addition to asking you for the address, will also ask you to position the red pointer on the map yourself so as not to make mistakes in geolocation.
