One of the main reasons

Today we are talking about money. More specifically, about website prices. Conversations about money are very uncomfortable. In addition, price is usually one of the main objections when it comes to buying. In the world of marketing, there are opinions on pricing strategies for all tastes. Whether I set the price or not, whether I have offers and promotions, high ticket services, tripwire strategy…

But beyond all this, what is behind a service fee is the work, time, knowledge and experience of a professional, which is what you will end up paying for in the design of your website .

The other day I was telling my list of subscribers about a case of a quote I made and the reaction of the (non) client. It didn't go very well, and the issue of prices for a website (or any other service) always brings a lot of trouble.

is mistrust and suspicion, not knowing if it will work for you, if it is worth it or if they are inflating the price. For that, the best thing is to be well informed and understand the ins and outs of the profession, that's what we're going for. Today I'm launching this mega post about how much a website costs. Because nothing is as simple as a fixed and universal figure.

Can you make the website yourself?
CMS and page builders like Elementor or Divi allow you to create a website without touching any code, but does that mean you can do it yourself?

Well, yes, of course you can, in fact, many people choose this option. The question is whether it really pays off. That's the crux of the matter. First, time. A good website requires a lot of work time and even more so if you are not familiar with or do not work professionally in design.

For example, after speaking with the client and reading their questionnaire, I do the design by hand, then in Photoshop and then pass it on to the layout artist. You can imagine that it is neither a linear nor simple path. You try something, move forward, take a couple of steps back, go back to the beginning, take up the idea you had discarded and so on until you hit the nail on the head.

Maybe it's because I'm in the business and my opinion may not be entirely biased, but as soon as you can afford it, pay a designer to make your website.

And not only because it looks more professional, reliable and consistent with the brand, but also because the page will be better optimized so that the user can interact with your website and obtain better results.

Don't think that your client can't tell the difference between a clean, well-kept, professional site and a sloppy, untidy, home-made one. For home-made meals, it's better to order them from websites.

The price of a website: from €0 to infinity
The main problem when looking for a quote for your website design is that there is nothing written down – in the metaphorical sense, although there is not much literally either – and the range of prices you can find on the market varies from, say, 100 euros to infinity.

What I'm telling you doesn't help to have clear references, I know, but I have to start somewhere. Making an effort to narrow down this range of rates, let's say that a website, in 90% of cases, could range from 200 euros to 5000.

Let's move on to the next key question: What does the price of a web design depend on?

It will vary depending on many different factors, from the country you are in – an American, Spanish or Argentine designer will not have the same price – to the type of project you have in hand.

There are four key points that you need to be clear about when requesting a quote, because these answers will largely determine the outcome.

The type of website: you will agree with me that a landing page has nothing to do with a personal brand website, a blog or an e-commerce, and therefore the price may change.
Online strategy: behind a beautiful website design there is strategy, intention and results. The more the designer works on this aspect, the more expensive his or her service will be.
The degree of customization of the website: from a pre-designed template to a programmer who creates a custom space for you, there are many ways to adapt the website to the needs of each business and each will have its own price.
Website management and maintenance: once it is up and running, it needs to be maintained periodically , including backups, performance analysis, etc. Ask yourself if you can manage it yourself, if they will explain how to do it, or if it is included in the budget.
How much does a website cost?
I already mentioned it before, there is no set price that I can give you without knowing m australia whatsapp number data ore details. What I can and want in this article is for you to understand –from my point of view– what it costs and what are the variables that affect the cost.

In my case, my rates depend on three main factors.

My time: I charge for the time I spend on each project. It's that simple.
My experience: experience is a degree, or at least that's what they say. My journey as a designer has taught me to understand the client's demands, to adapt to real needs – those that are not stated but are there – and that journey also has a value.
The results: a website is not just a static virtual space that is pleasing to the eye. It must be an interactive place that seeks to achieve objectives, that represents and sells for the brand and that does not cause problems. That is how I understand the result should be.
