Twitter has acquired Posterous, a service that allows users to share information online, both on the web and via mobile devices . Despite this acquisition, users will still be able to use Posterous Spaces, which will continue to operate without interruption.

Both companies have announced this acquisition on their respective blogs. On its blog, Twitter has stated that the reason for the purchase is that both Posterous and they share the goal of building an "innovative" product for sharing content in a simple way, both on the web and through mobile devices.

Despite this acquisition by Twitter , both companies have assured that the Posterous service will continue to operate without interruption and if there are any changes at any architect data time, users will be informed of this "well in advance." They also add that in the coming weeks they will explain the instructions for all those users who wish to make a backup copy of their content or transfer it to another service.

Twitter has announced that with this purchase it will acquire the team of engineers, product managers and staff of Posterous Spaces, who will join forces to improve the social network, although the purchase price is not yet known.

With this acquisition, Posterous has become a small company that is integrated into the big social media companies, as happened with Gollawa, which was bought by Facebook, despite the fact that it announced its closure on Monday.
Posterous is a service that allows users to access via email, publish articles in PDF and view them as a viewer, post with maximum immediacy, create photo galleries, among other simple functions that allow the user to 'blog' in the simplest way.
