Marketing Mania: Hair Commercials

Women's hair has been given the same importance as men's these days. In fact, they have been forced to recognize the power that women have in caring for their hair. Or at least that's what shampoo commercials would have us believe.

This year, Procter and Gamble, Pantene Pro-V and Rejoice launched their commercials in China respectively, and they not only showed us the positive impact that hair can have, but also how much a woman can have confidence and achieve what she wants.

The first was the Pantene Pro-V commercial . Okay, imagine all those situations where a woman has been portrayed as being submissive to a man and having australia business fax list to say “I’m sorry”: When trying to ask a question, for moving his arm, when being in the middle of a research project during a work conference. The first half of the commercial shows the women saying “I’m sorry” and letting the man go first. Don’t Say Sorry! Then the whole scene changed to show each woman facing her anger and trying to go first. The commercial ends with the hashtag #SHINESTRONG.

Then there is the Rejoice commercial which focuses more on a romantic relationship slowly breaking down, but how a woman can move forward after all. The 5-minute commercial starts with a couple of cutscenes between the two where the husband asks his wife for a divorce. She is stunned by the news and very sad, but she asks the husband that his last request is that they share a hug every day for the rest of the month that remains.

They did it, the first hug happened on the rooftop, where he proposed to her. The second was at the seaside, where he told her for the first time that he loved her. Then, the third hug was where he gave her her first kiss. Up until this moment, the husband was filled with emotions and memories and he started to think about his decision. On the last day, they met again, but instead of giving him a hug, she gave him the signed divorce papers.
