Let's imagine that the job search is a building and that we have to start building it. Where would we start? With the foundations, right? The foundations are the basic part of the building, what supports it, and if we don't build the base well, our building will not be strong and we will run the risk of it collapsing. Well, in the job search, knowing yourself, knowing who you are at a professional level and what your professional goal is is what we call self-knowledge and it is part of career guidance.

How do you start this phase? I recommend you find a quiet, bright place where you can sit down with some blank sheets of paper and a pen. Now we are going to do an exercise that we will call “self-knowledge.”

Self-knowledge

Take a blank sheet of paper and draw 2 columns. We will call one of them “Strengths” and the other “Weaknesses”. Now you must write down, in each case, what is the best thing about you and what you namibia phone number data should improve. This exercise will have helped us to know ourselves better and to know where we can improve. Remember that when looking for a job you should always highlight your strengths (you can also call them skills), because they are the best thing about you.
